I named this restaurant after my father, George Gounaikis, who has owned and operated a couple of pizza places. He started making pizzas in 1967. George has taught my brother Jim and I all about operating restaurants. Our family worked together in the restaurant business; I started working with my dad at age 11. My wife Patti and I have worked together for over 20 years in this line of work. Yeah, we've had a few arguments over the years. People have wondered how we can work and live together. I'm proud to have named this establishment after the man who taught me what I know today, my father George F. Gounaikis. Now, it's going to be an honor to serve the town of Northfield once again, hopefully for many years to come. We hope your experience will be an enjoyable one here at George's Vineyard.
